The Streatham festival is a multi-cultural celebration of all aspects of life based in and around the people of Streatham in London. The area is a cultural melting pot with so many different nationalities, cultures and traditions in such a small area that the organisers felt this needed to be celebrated; hence the eight day festival. The festival contains a huge number of events and activities, from street carnivals, dancing to artists showcasing their works and explaining about the traditions of their communities from which they originate. Comedy and music gigs are commonplace throughout the week at a variety of sites and these are aimed at promoting cultural understanding and friendliness as well as a host of other events aimed at promoting the area and the differing creeds and cultures within. Streatham Festival is a bright, friendly, family based carnival that has achieved a fine reputation within London since its inception.
