About Clarence House
Buckingham Palace isn't the only Palace in London. Clarence House has been a Royal residence for over 170 years.

The Duke of Clarence - who would later become King William IV - had been living in apartments at the western end of St. James's Palace, but following his marriage in 1818 they were no longer adequate. So Clarence house was built, almost as an extension to the original Palace between 1825 and 1827.
