Maxwells (8-9 James St, Covent Garden 0207 836 0303) is a long established restaurant located just meters from Covent Garden underground station. It certainly doesn’t offer any surprises but it’s been running long enough to offer slick service and a good all round experience. Your family can expect typical American dishes (steaks, burgers, Caesar Salad, etc) in large portions, and it shouldn’t hurt your wallet too much either. Crayons and balloons are typically available to keep children amused, whilst mum and dad can enjoy a glass of wine or a specialty cocktail.
